92-Year-Old Woman Who Fled Scene Of Hit-And-Run Because She Had Diarrhea Sentenced To 18 Months Probation

A 92-year-old woman who fled the scene of a hit-and-run accident back in February was sentenced to 18 months probation this week.

Persis Draper of Oro Valley, Arizona, hit pedestrian Dori Stolmaker, while she was walking in a crosswalk. After striking Stolmaker from behind and “[flipping] her around like a rag doll,” the nonagenarian sped off in her Lincoln Town Car.

Her reason?

Draper claims a bad case of diarrhea caused her to flee the scene of the accident. Once she had successfully made it to the toilet, she allegedly took a sleeping pill and knocked out until she awoke to the sound of police knocking on her door.

  1. What a sticky situation! That's a bad day for everyone involved. I'm sure there are those who disagree with me, but I think in most cases someone who is 92 years old shouldn't be driving in the first place.

  4. Isn't taking a sleeping pill while you have diarrhea a particularly bad idea?
