Worst. Prize Egg. Ever.
Dead Body Found During Easter Egg Hunt

(WBIR - Knoxville) The hunt for the source of a foul odor ended with the discovery of a decomposing body under the deck of a family's home in west Knoxville.

The body was found by a mother who was having an Easter egg hunt for her four-year-old child in the back yard, according to Knoxville police. Officials said the body had been there for about two weeks.

The woman told police she had smelled a foul odor outside her home on Forest View Road for several days.

She tried to find the source of the smell a couple of times during the week to no avail.

Wednesday night at 7:19 p.m., the mother noticed the smell again during the Easter egg hunt and was finally able to locate the body.

  1. Ugh. That will be an Easter memory for years to come.

  2. This family must have a very muted sense of smell! Human decomp is STRONG and I would have had to tear the house apart to find that smell. Wow.

    1. Okay, now that's putting it mildly at best. Once there was a dead groundhog stuck in the storm drain across the street from our house, it stunk up the place until Animal Control could be persuaded into removing it.

I can't imagine how much worse a dead human body that's almost 10 times as big as a groundhog would have to stink, especially if it's right under your house and not across the street.

  3. Was he dressed as a giant bunny?

  4. Made me think of this Family Guy bit...
