News: Mom Has Son Arrested For Stealing Her Pop-Tarts

Bitch be cray. The next time I feel like a crappy parent, I'm going to think of her.

From the Charlotte Observer.
Mom has son arrested for stealing her Pop-Tarts

A Charlotte woman had her son arrested for stealing her Pop-Tarts earlier this week.

According to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report, the mother called investigators on Monday to report her Pop-Tarts had been stolen from her home on Goldstaff Lane. She fingered her own son, who is a juvenile, as the culprit.

Neighbor Fred Patrick laughed when he first learned an arrest had been made over Pop-Tarts. He knows the young boy.

“He seems real nice to me. I mean, he is real respectful,” Patrick said.

The report said that the boy was placed under juvenile arrest and was charged with larceny/misdemeanor.

Another neighbor, Tiffany Covington, said in her house, food is there for everyone.

“It would be nice if they asked, but they don’t. They are kids,” she said.

The mom declined to comment.

  2. I thought this was from The Onion when I first saw it. Who calls the damn cops on their own child over a Pop Tart? It wasn't even the Brown Sugar Cinnamon flavor! It was Strawberry!

  3. It's unbelievable what people will call the police for. We get calls for an officer from parents because their kids overslept for school, won't eat their vegetables, or sassed back at them. Unfortunately, I'm not even close to kidding. People are idiots.

  4. Charlotte, NC, where this happened, is only about 20 minutes from my house. The local news reported that the mother was "tired of her son's trouble-making and discipline issues at school and home" With school about to be out for the summer, I'm guessing she wants him in DJJ for a while so she won't have to put up with him. BTW: if I called the cops on my teenagers (and their friends) for eating "other people's food" they would all be serving life without parole.
