Sure she was just yawning in class when this happened. I buy that.
I've actually had that happen. It happened a lot when I was a young teen and I had braces (and a neck gear. Oh yeah, I was hawt! lol). My jaw would lock and get out of joint. I never needed an ER visit and eventually I would pop it back into place. It does hurt though and is quite scary. At least it felt that was as a 13 year old.
*felt that way
This made me laugh, especially when she was sitting there with 27 "lolly sticks" jammed in her mouth. Speaking of, I second Lefty's suspicion.
It made me laugh when the poor girl had the whole stack of sticks in her mouth, and the doctor decided there was still room for one more. It was like it was a game to see how many would fit in there!
27 sticks to fill it up? If it didn't happen while yawning I'd like to meet Holly's "friend."
I'm with lefty and Cary on this one. I'm thinking our lovely young lady here was "entertaining" a pal and suffered a very common malady.
Well, I was going to say that my jaw used to lock up after a yawn, too, and I'd have to punch myself in the face to get it to close, but after some of the comments here, I think I'll just keep that to myself. The problem hasn't recurred since I quit chewing gum.
