Second Chance Of The Day

Okay, how cool is this?

From Tom Kane:

A YouTube video about a homeless man with an amazing voice goes viral... A few top VO people and LA TV Producers kick in to high gear. Phone calls are made, camera crews are sent, favors are called in...

And IN LESS THAN 48 HOURS, he goes from an unknown homeless man to someone who touched our hearts, and now has a second chance at a productive life.

Happy New Year, indeed.

And here he is on The CBS Morning News (!) this morning:

  1. I can't tell you how happy that made me! I couldn't even make it through his whole interview 'cause I got too emotional. Amazing!

  2. Wow. Just...wow. States of grace and second chances are possible after all. What a testament to the resiliency of the human spirit. Thanks for posting that, Cary. I've been feeling really, really hopeless lately, and this helps a lot.

  4. I love stories like that. I lost it when he said he just wanted to have a job, an apartment, and be able to cook in. Reminds me of "The Blind Side" when Michael tells Leigh Anne he's never had his own bed before. I try to be grateful but guys like this remind me I have a long way to go.

He sure did clean up nice, didn't he?

  7. That was awesome. In a media world that seems to focus on the negative and ugly sides of humanity, it's a delight to see a story like this. Bless Ted's heart, his humility, and his grace - he deserves an apartment, a bed and a stove to cook on, and much more.

    Thanks for sharing!

And he really did clean up nice :).

  13. This is an awesome story. But I have to ask, who the eff captioned the 2nd video!? It's so waaaay off! It couldn't possibly be someone whose first language is English...
