The New Razzies Are Here! The New Razzies Are Here!

Oscar wasn't the only award whose nominations were announced this morning. It's Razzie time again. This year's theme? "Round up the usual suspects." I'm glad they found a spot for Candice Bergen this year. I've always thought she was a horrible actress.

From Zimbio:

The nominees for the 2010 Golden Raspberry (aka Razzie) Awards have been announced, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Will Ferrell's Land of the Lost lead the way with seven nominations each.

To clarify, the ceremony is held every year to recognize the worst films of the year, along with the worst actors, actresses and directors. The Razzies will be held on March 6, 2010 -- the day before the Academy Awards, which, of course, honor the year's best in the industry.

Naturally, you won't see as many famous faces at the Razzies as the Oscars: Apparently celebs don't find being nominated to be much of a compliment. Still, stars like Halle Berry have played the good sport and showed up to accept their awards.

Since it's 2010, this year's ceremony will include some special awards that look back on the worst movies of the past 10 years, including the Worst Picture, Actress and Actor of the Decade.

  1. **Handing over any credibility I might have for also liking independent and foreign films.**

I'm ashamed to admit that I enjoyed two of the five nominees for Worst Picture. (All About Steve and Land of the Lost) What can I say? I enjoy the occasional campy B movie.

  2. I refused to watch Land Of The Lost. How dare they taint the artistic integrity of the original series that I loved as a child?!

  3. See, I never watched the original, so there ya' go.

  5. HAHA! Oh yeah, I see what you mean. Stunning.

  6. See? And the acting was even better. So good, in fact, that actor Wesley Eure only had to use his first name in the cast listing. He was like the Prince or Rasputin of Saturday morning TV.

  7. I thought All About Steve was hilarious! And not surprisingly I've seen the Transformers movie.

  8. Wait, no, these are wrong. At least not this year's!

Not only did Transformers come out in 2009, but how could the Razzis not have THE LAST AIRBENDER???

  9. Oh, right. Both ones I mentioned came out in 2009. I just didn't see them until 2010.

  10. I'll bet there's some serious celebratin' going on at the Cyrus household. Any excuse to sport big, teased hair and break out a new halter top. Miley's probably pretty excited, too.

I looked forward to watching "Land of the Lost" every Saturday morning when I was growing up. I even dressed as a Sleezak for Halloween one year.

  11. How could they possibly overlook Shia LaBeouf??

  12. This is total SHIT
How can Steve Martin be the worst actor(in the Pink Panther 2). Every one I have met thought that he was great.Transformers 2 and G.I Joe were ENTERTAINING. That's all a movie has to be, entertaining. How on earth can these be the worst sequels made. The lest educated, completely neutral, normal human beings would make the best film critics. Not some pretentious DORK who uses words like "cadence".I say to you now as I would in wine tasting. Not woody, round, balanced, clean, or leathery.

IF IT FUCKING TASTES NICE THEN DRINK IT!!!
