They do that with heads, too.
ReplyDeleteI think it would be fun to have a pet tiger. Until he swiped your face off and ate it like a pizza. That would suck.
Everyone knows big cats make for good huggin'!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know tigers enjoyed swimming so much! You can tell they don't really like the taste of the pumpkins. When they'd get a bite in their mouths they looked like Tom Hanks in "Big" trying to get the caviar off his tongue!
ReplyDeleteThat confirms in my mind that your ass would be so dead if you ever encountered one in the wild, LOL. Fun to watch them frolic in the water though...from safely behind a fence, hehe.
ReplyDeleteI don't think they are going to win any pumpkin carving contests, but they look like they are having fun.
ReplyDeleteI've been to this facility in Tampa a few years ago, you used to be able to camp overnight in one of the enclosures (we were in with two Siberian lynxes) and we were even able to hand feed one of the big tigers. You could also go in and out of some of the enclosures at will, but only ones with smaller cats like ocelots, lynxes, and bobcats. I don't think they do the overnight stays any more, and I'm not sure about the feeding and petting. Probably just tours now.
ReplyDeleteI tried this with my cats and some of those tiny decorative gourds. They weren't having any of it. I guess it only works on the big kitties.
ReplyDeleteThink the kitties would like my leftover candy from Halloween? I still have a metric fuckton of the stuff.
ReplyDeleteI overbuy every year, and wind up sick as a dog the day after because like an idiot I binge on the stuff as if I'm gonna run out.
P.S. I'm nursing a sore shoulder and feeling like a horse's ass cause my neighbor's kid nailed me with a half frozen water balloon.
My cats would happily nom the crinkly candy wrappers until they disintegrated. The actual candy, not so much.
ReplyDeleteWe hid inside with the lights off this year, so no leftovers here. Yup, we're the "mean" neighbors.
Thanks for sharing these videos. It would seem as if these felines like the shape of the pumpkin as well as consuming it once they get it open. Good post.
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I think they like the pumpkins because they are very bite-able....not unlike prey, in fact. Seriously. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. My little cat always ate the heads off of the hummingbirds and mice/rats & the vet said that's exactly the reason...the textures!
