Classic Commercial Of The Day: Fig Newton Dance

Sometimes in the heat of the summer, tossing and turning in the night, I awake with this song going through my head. The only thing that can relieve my anguish is listening to Supertramp in my conversion van at full volume.

  1. I actually taught my kids this song and dance. (hangs head in shame).

  2. "Here's the tricky part!"
I haven't thought about that one in a long time. The classics never go out of style, do they?

  4. God, I'd forgotten about this until I saw it! The past comes retching back up with us again...

  5. Yeah. Thanks for the memory whiplash. I swear, those neurons hadn't fired since the last time I heard that jingle way back in the deep dark whenever.

  6. Can't imagine how this ever sold cookies. Dance lessons, yes, but cookies?

  7. This is one of those things that just sticks with you forever. "Here's the tricky part." HA! I bet it WAS kind of tricky to stand on one foot while wearing that costume. I'd think it would throw off your balance a bit.

  8. This commercial was a staple of my childhood. Don't be hatin'. We had much lower standards back then.

  9. One of my all-time faves. I, too, still sing the song and do the dance. And I've spent decades in hopes of finding a fig costume and shoes...

  10. Oh yes, I remember this one. I kind of liked how products had jingles back in the day. They stay with you.

WV= sheash (should be the default, really...)
