It was pre-video days, but the song was very popular on Dr Demento's radio show in the mid 70s. It's a classic!

It was a prennial Dr. Demento favorite, but I also remember seeing this video on SNL. Trivia tidbit: the video was directed by Bill Paxton. Yes that Bill Paxton.

One time around 1990, MTV aired a countdown of the worst videos of all time. This was number one. My brother and I sang the chorus forever after that.

I love this song. LOVE it. I even had lyrics from it as my status recently on Facebook. :-) Yep. I'm a big dork.
I also remember something about "Dead puppies, they don't come when you call." And a take on the Bangles "Walk like and Egyptian" - "Walk with an Erection." Yeah, I have weird music memories.
