LOTD Classic Of The Day: Talented Beauty Pageant Contestant

I think it's time for this gem again. Enjoy. It won't be easy, but stick around long enough for the interpretive dance.

Yes, whenever I think of Star Wars, Charlie Chaplin always comes to mind.

I'd like to stick a light saber down her trumpet, and I don't mean that in a sexual way.

Look out! A storm trooper! Look out! It's the penguin from Batman! Look out! A train wreck second only to the one who gave the answer about "the Iraq... Such-as-a." Yikes.

Words fail me...shocking I know.

That was just painful to watch and hear.

Although it was better than Celine Dion doing AC/DC.

I like how she moves ridiculously, EXCEPT for when she's playing - then it's like she's paralyzed. Gawd that was awful...

I have that outfit....

It doesn't matter how many times I watch that (and I think I'm up to about 15), it still makes me laugh out loud.

Somewhere, there is a band teacher committing suicide.

oh, shit...not HER again. As soon as I saw the shine of the trumpet I turned off this trainwreck. As a trumpet player/musician this just HURTS me beyond reason.

if you wanted to drive me nuts, you could lock me in a room and play this video for an hour...you would succeed by the 15 minute mark!

She was clearly relegated to the color guard in high school marching band.

Excellent! She deserves to win on three counts - the poodle 'wedge' perm, the excellent 'acting' and the trumpet interpretation of "Chewbacca Strangles Princess Leia".

Ahh, yes, the fond memories. I believe this may have been my introductory video to LOTD. It was the hook. Kinda riveting. Like watching a snake molt. Revolting, yet mesmerizing.

I think she's great. She really sells it.

this makes me laugh so hard - but I'm left with the sick feeling that her hair is exactly how mine looked at my wedding in 1987 - alas, the 80s were a series of bad "scrunched" perms for me.

Some call it "midwest mall" hair but my friends all called it "bank teller" hair. An old high school friend told me recently about someone we knew "I heard she moved back to town and has bank teller hair." I just love that.

I wonder what happened to this girl. I would love it if she would pop in for an update.

After the show:

Non-sequitor trumpet girl runs up to her boyfriend in the mezzanine, jumping up and down like a cheerleader with post-show excitement still lingering and quips, "I'm a little teapot..."

Boyfriend says, "Hey, about that performance, I was thinking maybe we should see other people..."

Wow. That's 2 minutes and 53 seconds of my life I'll never ever get back.

If anyone's interested: Stacy Hedger, Revealed!

Nice find, leena.

I wonder how she felt about her dad giving out her cell phone number...

Oh Lord, this makes me grateful (I hope). I couldn't possibly have managed to play the trumpet, but I was rockin' the spandex back in the day. If anyone had filmed that in high school and posted it, I would be slowly dying right now. Yikes. And everybody's comments today are hilarious, but keeorp wins the prize in my opinion. :)

WTF *IS* that?

Somebody obviously gave her key-of-C music for her B-flat trumpet, and she learned it in the wrong key. High-school musicians are not taught to transpose on the fly.

For what it's worth, she played just fine, in her oddball key.

What I wonder is whether she noticed. If she did, she's awesome for not melting into a quivering slag pile on stage, like I would have.

poor stacy hedger. I wonder where she is now and if she knws she is a you tube sensation??
