I don't know, Reen, you'd think a Mississippian would know a 'possum when they see one. I'm thinking California. Do they even have opossum in CA?

I believe the good people of Mississippi know what a opposum looks like. But California, hmmm....

Reminds me of the scene in Adventures in Babysitting when the best friend loses her glasses at the bus station and thinks a rat is a cat. Hilarious movie.

PS: Yes, there are possums in California. Some (ex) Californians even know what they look like!

This person seriously thought this was a cat???Is this real? How hilarious! I've got a possum that lives under our storage shed out back. He comes up on the back porch in the morning to help himself to our trash. Possums are, in my opinion, the ugliest, scariest looking rodents ever. As Terps put it...R.O.U.S.'s

We definitely had opposums in Southern California growing up. We used to see them in our backyard.

Awesome poster.

In Alabama, we usually see possums flattened in the middle of the road.

Obviously a joke. Check out the photos in Virginia Opossum and Opossum. Still hilarious, however.

It's a funny poster, but this has to be a joke. If a person was seriously ignorant enough to believe this is a "cat," they most likely would have thought the animal was dead when it started playing "possum." (When possums come in contact with preditors/strangers, they act as if they are dead.) In turn, the man or woman who believed this was a "cat" wouldn't have posted a sign for a "dead" animal.
