  1. Hard to beat a 'pace of ass'. Everyone likes that...

    There are other ones missed:

    A cry of hounds
    A rag of colts
A kindle (or litter) of kittens
    An exaltation of larks

    etc etc

    Some are too familiar:

    A bouquet of flowers
    A herd of elephants
    A school of fish

And what of making up some, too:

    A smell of farts
    An acquiescence of bureaucrats
    A greed of bankers
    A liar of politicians
    A vacuity of celebrities

  2. ooh, this is delightful! so many new words...

  3. I work in at a development house, and we have a term for a group of developers (like when you see them all in the hall talking):

    A slack of developers

  4. My very gay friend and I decided that a group of gays should be refered to as a "gaggle"

  5. My fifteen minutes!

  6. I Love these!!

    I'll make some up too...

    How about:

    A jolt of electricians
    A wave of sailors
    A palette of artists
    A fluff of beauticians
    A drawer of cashiers
    A cache of techies
    A yip of chihuahuas
    A shovel of gardeners

    Hahaha..this is fun!!

  7. FYI: the host from The Actors Studio has created a book of these. He published it years ago and apparently it has never gone out of print.

Oh, what I've learned from years of NPR.

  8. Hands down best one:

    "a congress of baboons."

    I think I just peed a little.

  9. Those are awesome band names! I got dibs on A Quiver of Cobras.
